Daily Mirror News, Hyderabad,July 21st, 2024: ‘Buddha’s teachings only solution to the social problems ‘ Says Patel Ramesh reddy, Chairman,Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTD) who attended as Chief guest at the Dharmachakra Pravartana sutra day celebrations organised on Sunday at Buddhavanam, a Buddhist heritage theme park developed by TGTDC at Nagarjunasagar.

While tracing the history of Buddhism in Telangana, he says that it could be visualised and showcased in one of the segments to attract more tourists from our country and south East Asian countries and assured Buddhavanam would become first of its kind in Asia.

K.Jayaveer reddy, MLA Nagarjunasagar special guest of the event shared his ideas on creating some more Buddhist attractions at Buddhavanam so that it could become a most sought after destination not only for Buddhists but also for general visitors. He urged the participants to simply follow the four noble truths to lead a wholesome life.
Mr N.Prakash Reddy,Managing Direcor, TGTDC briefed the audience on the significance of the Dharma Chakra Pravartana Day which is organised as a calendar event regularly at Buddhavanam as part of preserving and promoting Buddhist heritage. He said that Telangana government is evincing lot of interest in developing a Buddhist tourist circuit in which Buddhavanam acts as a special attraction.


Prof.Thakur S Powdyel, former Bhutan Education Minister and passionate believer in Bhutan’s Holistic development vision of Gross national Happiness who attended as distinguished guest delivered a thoughtful speech and shared his reflections on the theme ‘ Gross National Happiness: A Unique Vision of Holistic Development from the Land of The Buddha to All Lands…’ followed by a thrilling Dhammaraga concert of Sitar by a US based Eminent Musician and composer Dr.Madhu Saradhi Nanduri .

Buddhist Monks from Sera Mey Monastery,Mysuru and Mahabodhi Buddha Vihara Secunderabad offered chanting of Buddhavandana at the Buddhapada and Acharya Nagarjuna Staue in typical Buddhist tradition. Mr Prakash Reddy Presented Buddhavanam mementos to the invitees at the end of the event.
