Founded with the goal of empowering women through education, Mahila Dakshata Samithi has made significant contributions to both the academic and social advancement of women in the region.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities such as Shri Bijay Mandhani, Chairman of MBG Group; Vinod K. Agarwal, Retired IAS Officer; Prakash Goenka, Industrialist and Trustee of MDS;Vijay Kumarswamy, Senior Program Manager at Google Maps; Aruna Malani, Secretary of MDS; Jaya Baheti; and Raj Jain.

During the occasion, the Governor of Telangana,Jishnu Dev Varma, honored top achievers by presenting them with mementos in recognition of their academic excellence:

Addressing the gathering, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma spoke about the profound impact Mahila Dakshata Samithi (MDS) has had on the lives of girls from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

MDS has empowered these young women through education and holistic development. Under the leadership of Dr. Saroj Bajaj, MDS has been transforming lives by providing opportunities for orphans, daughters of single parents, and children of daily wage earners.

Initiatives like the Suman Nilayam Hostel and other educational institutions focus not only on academics but also on fostering confidence, resilience, and self-reliance, thereby aligning with Swami Vivekananda’s belief that the welfare of the world is built on the upliftment of women.

MDS has already empowered over 10,000 students, many of whom have gone on to excel in fields like healthcare, technology, banking, and more.

The Governor further expressed his support for the upcoming Nirmala Goenka Girls Hostel, which will provide additional support for these young women to pursue their dreams. He quoted Mahatma Gandhi: “If you educate a woman, you educate an entire family,” emphasizing that MDS exemplifies this truth by contributing to the creation of a more equitable and empowered society.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma concluded by urging everyone to celebrate and support MDS’s work, as empowering women is essential for building a stronger future for all. He also congratulated the visionary leaders and members of MDS for their unwavering dedication and commitment.
