Dailymirror.news,7th October 2024: Renowned historian MyNaa Swamy has been awarded the prestigious AP Government’s Excellence Award for his groundbreaking research book Architecture and Art of Vijayanagara – Lepakshi. This recognition was given under the category of Best Publicity Book. AP Tourism Minister, Sri Kandula Durgesh, presented the award, along with a shield and Merit Certificate, at a grand ceremony.
During his acceptance speech, MyNaa Swamy urged the government to take vital steps toward securing permanent UNESCO World Heritage status for the Lepakshi Veerabhadra Temple, which was provisionally added to the list of World Heritage sites in March 2022.
Swamy’s scholarly contributions include publishing books on Lepakshi in multiple languages, including English, Telugu, and Kannada, with the English edition officially launched in Delhi. His celebrated work will soon be translated into Sanskrit, Hindi, and other languages, further expanding its reach.
Since 1986, Swamy has been organizing seminars to promote the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Lepakshi’s sculptures and mural paintings. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has earned five state government awards and two national awards, cementing his legacy as a leading historian in the field.
