Dailymirror.news, Mumbai, January 27, 2025: Telangana and Sun Petrochemicals (SunPetro) have entered into a significant partnership to establish renewable energy infrastructure. On January 22, 2025, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, SunPetro signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government to develop pumped storage hydro power projects and solar power plants in the state.

  • Hydro Power Capacity: 3,400 MW
  • Solar Power Capacity: 5,440 MW
  • Locations: Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, and Mulugu districts
  • Investment: ₹45,500 crore
  • Job Creation: Over 7,000 employment opportunities during construction

This initiative underscores SunPetro’s focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio while aiding the socio-economic growth of Telangana.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Vidyasagar Tulluri, representing SunPetro, in the presence of senior Telangana officials.

Mr. Dilip Shanghvi, Managing Director of SunPetro, expressed his excitement, emphasizing Telangana’s progressive policies and dedication to sustainable energy. He acknowledged the state’s business-friendly environment as a key driver for investments.
