Dailymirror.news, Hyderabad, July 15, 2025: Marking World Youth Skills Day, HDFC Bank announced that it has successfully trained over 7.2 lakh youth across India under its flagship CSR initiative, Parivartan.

Through more than 70 active projects across states, the bank’s skill development programmes span sectors such as IT/ITeS, retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Parivartan’s initiatives focus on two primary areas:

Skill development for employment generation

Livelihood enhancement with a focus on entrepreneurship, especially in rural areas

Training courses under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) range from 3 to 6 months and cover diverse industries such as finance, business services, hospitality, textiles, education, and construction. These programmes have reported placement rates between 60% and 70%.

A recent highlight is the launch of the Parivartan Skills Academy in Jaipur, which offers locally tailored training to promote both sustainable employment and entrepreneurship. The academy is part of a national network aimed at skilling 2 lakh youth in the coming years.

Additionally, over 6 lakh individuals, including farmers, self-help groups, and community enterprises, have benefited from livelihood enhancement initiatives under Parivartan. Training has been provided in goat-rearing, bee-keeping, handloom weaving, organic farming, mushroom cultivation, and more.

HDFC Bank’s skilling programmes operate across multiple states including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal, and others, covering both urban and rural regions. The bank has also trained over 4,300 differently-abled individuals, reinforcing its inclusive development approach.

Beyond technical training, the bank also supports youth entrepreneurship through pitch events, encouraging innovation and enterprise.

These efforts align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to decent work, economic growth, education, gender equality, and climate action.

World Youth Skills Day, declared by the UN General Assembly in 2014, highlights the importance of youth skill development as a foundation for sustainable development.
