
Dailymirror.news,July 23rd,2025:Pallavi International School (PIS), Attapur, celebrated International Chess Day with great zeal to commemorate the foundation of the International Chess Federation (FIDE), established in Paris on July 20, 1924.
The celebration was graced by Mr. Subramanyam Jonnnalgadda, a renowned chess coach with over three decades of experience since 1988, who attended as the Chief Guest. A special assembly was conducted for all grades where he addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights, tips, and strategies of the game, while also highlighting its numerous cognitive and developmental benefits.

Students enthusiastically participated in an interactive session, playing with the maestro and showcasing their skills and passion for the game. Younger students contributed to the event by creating colorful, informative charts and delivering speeches on legendary chess players from India and around the world. These efforts not only celebrated chess but also emphasized its role in developing strategic thinking, mental agility, and fostering global unity.

PIS Attapur proudly recognized its budding chess champions who brought accolades to the school through their recent achievements:
- Kethan Reddy (Grade 9) secured 2nd Prize in a tournament organized by Telangana Chess School
- M. Shathhayu Vedanth Reddy (Grade 5) won 1st Prize in the Maestro Tournament
- Pawani Sohan (Grade 5) achieved 3rd Prize in the U-10 Maestro Tournament
- Abhiram Reddy (Grade 5) won 3rd Prize in the Slan Rapid Chess tournament held at Rockwell School
- S. Shivanya Singanamalla (Grade 3) ranked 7th in the U-10 Premia Chess Tournament
All winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest in a proud moment of recognition. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by the Principal, as students reflected on the joy and benefits of the timeless game of chess.
