Dailymirror.news, Hyderabad, September 10, 2025 : A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this evening at T-Hub, Hyderabad, between the International Academy of Computer Graphics (IACG), India’s pioneering institution offering full-time graduation and postgraduate programs in multimedia courses, and Kyoto Seika University, Japan the world’s first university dedicated to Manga and Anime.

The agreement was exchanged at 07:57 PM IST, marking a significant step toward global collaboration in the creative industry.

The MoU was formalized by Mr. Rama Krishna Polina, Founder and Managing Director of IACG Multimedia College, and Mr. Shin Matsumura, Director of the Centre for Research on Contemporary African and Asian Cultures at Kyoto Seika University.

The ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including Mr. VLVSS Subba Rao, Vice Chancellor of The Young India Skill University; Mr. Takashi Suzuki, Chief Director General of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation); and Mr. Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and CEO of Green Gold Animation, known for creating Chhota Bheem.

The agreement outlines key initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs between India and Japan, industry-academia linkages to integrate global best practices into Telangana, outsourcing opportunities facilitated by JETRO, and global placement prospects for Telangana-trained talent in the Manga and Anime sector. This collaboration aims to position Telangana as a global hub for creative talent export.

Mr. VLVSS Subba Rao emphasized the evolving educational landscape, stating, “Degrees will not matter in the future skills and competencies will. With AI advancing rapidly, the education system must adopt a revolving curriculum to adapt to change.”

Mr. Shin Matsumura highlighted Japan’s ageing population and the urgent need for young Indian talent in creative industries, while Mr. Rama Krishna Polina underscored India’s potential, noting, “With AI, VR, AR, and automation, India’s rich cultural heritage our 3 crore gods offers endless storytelling possibilities. Telangana, with government incentives and the National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) & IICT for Animation & VFX, can become a global content powerhouse.”

Dr. Suresh Madiraju, Principal of IACG, highlighted Hyderabad’s thriving IT ecosystem, positioning it as an ideal base for next-generation Manga and Anime talent.

Japan, a global leader in animation, accounts for 60% of worldwide animation consumption, with an Anime industry valued at over USD 25 billion. The country produces 1,000 new Manga titles and over 300 Anime seasons annually, with production budgets ten times higher than those of U.S. projects, presenting vast outsourcing potential.

Mr. Takashi Suzuki of JETRO pledged to facilitate partnerships, placements, and outsourcing linkages with Japanese studios, reinforcing the MoU’s role in elevating Telangana’s creative industry on the world stage.
