The special launch took place as part of Reliance Foundation’s Education and Sports for All (ESA) Day, giving children from under-resourced communities an opportunity to experience engaging, play-based learning. Designed for children aged 5 to 11 years, the exhibition helps young minds understand, recognize, express, and regulate emotions through interactive activities and immersive exhibits.
Speaking during the event, Isha Ambani said that learning should be driven by curiosity and play. She emphasized the importance of teaching emotional intelligence at an early age and reaffirmed Reliance Foundation’s commitment to making quality educational experiences accessible to every child through the ESA initiative.
Interactive Learning Through the Mood Meter..
A key feature of Emotions Lab is the Mood Meter, inspired by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence’s RULER framework. The exhibition enables children to develop five essential emotional skills recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotions through practical, hands-on experiences.
Participants explored activities focused on identifying emotions through facial expressions and body language, understanding how daily experiences influence feelings, improving communication, and building empathy and resilience. Children also participated in an NMACC Art Walk, encouraging creativity, observation, and self-expression.

Expanding Emotional Learning Across India..
Following its public exhibition at NMACC, Emotions Lab will be adapted for schools and Anganwadis across India, especially in underserved communities. The initiative builds on the success of Light Atelier, the 2025 Museum in Residence exhibition that engaged over 13,000 children.
Open to the public until August 2, 2026, Emotions Lab aims to create a safe and engaging environment where children can develop emotional intelligence alongside creativity and confidence.
