The Hyderabad leg saw an on-ground participation of 100+ bartenders, who put their skills to the test across a series of challenges designed to assess the fundamentals that matter behind the bar. From pouring and nosing to industry knowledge, service and crafting the perfect serve, the competition focused on real-world bartending skills, precision and performance under pressure.

Hosted by Vidit Mantri, Brand Ambassador, Monkey Shoulder India, the Hyderabad round culminated with Kumar from Foxie and Sunder from Tambo emerging as the two city finalists.

The pair will now advance to the India finale in October, where they will compete alongside finalists from the other city rounds.

Speaking about the India edition, Vidit Mantri, Brand Ambassador, Monkey Shoulder India, said: “A busy bar asks you to make decisions constantly, and that ability to think clearly is just as important as knowing the right technique.

The Hyderabad round puts that combination at the heart of the competition, moving bartenders between different challenges rather than judging them on a single drink. It is about recognising well-rounded professionals and giving them a platform to build on their skills as they move towards the India finale.”

Speaking about the World Ultimate Bartender Championship Global Final, Joe Petch, Monkey Shoulder Global Brand Ambassador, said: “What makes this championship compelling is the range it asks of a bartender. Knowledge, sensory ability and execution all have to work together; being strong in just one area is not enough.

City rounds such as Hyderabad help create that pathway to the Global Final, where India’s representative will have the chance to demonstrate the breadth of their ability among peers from across the world.”

The Ultimate Bartender Championship is being held across New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Bengaluru and Jaipur, with Guwahati, Chennai and Jaipur joining the championship as new cities in 2026. Finalists from across the country will come together for the India finale in October, with the national winner earning the opportunity to represent India at the World Ultimate Bartender Championship Global Final in November.
