Dailymirror.news,Hyderabad, July 21, 2026 : Samsung India has successfully completed the nationwide Design Thinking Workshop phase of the fifth edition of its flagship CSR initiative, Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, reaching 135 cities and inspiring thousands of young innovators across the country.

The programme, aimed at empowering students aged 14 to 22 years, encourages participants to identify real-world challenges in their communities and develop technology-driven solutions through design thinking, mentorship, and incubation.

As part of this year’s edition, Samsung organized 184 Design Thinking Workshops across schools, colleges, and universities spanning Jammu & Kashmir to Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to Tripura, making it one of India’s largest grassroots innovation platforms for young people.

With the workshops now completed, the competition enters its next phase, where the Top 100 teams will be shortlisted based on the innovative ideas submitted. These teams will receive expert mentorship and further evaluation before advancing to the final stages.

Speaking on the initiative, SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia, said the programme is designed to help young minds develop critical problem-solving skills by combining design thinking with technology.

“Every breakthrough starts by listening, observing and asking the right questions. Through Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, we are helping young people across India develop that mindset by combining design thinking with technology to solve challenges that matter in their own communities. We believe the next generation of entrepreneurs and technology leaders can come from anywhere, and Samsung is proud to help them turn their ideas into real-world impact,” he said.

Among the standout ideas were AI-powered civic governance platforms, intelligent food quality scanners, assistive technologies for persons with disabilities, portable solar-powered refrigeration for rural communities, real-time river water quality monitoring systems, and digital platforms to improve access to sports coaching and equipment.

In Hyderabad, engineering student A. Sharanya Rao proposed a real-time river water quality monitoring system to detect harmful microscopic pollutants. Meanwhile, Saanvi Nair, a Class IX student from Ahmedabad, developed the concept of a portable solar-powered refrigerator to help rural communities preserve food and water.

Celebrating 30 years of Samsung in India, the company reaffirmed its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young Indians through the continued expansion of the programme.

The Top Four winning teams of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 will receive incubation grants worth ₹2 crore, along with prototype development, mentorship, and incubation support from FITT-IIT Delhi, helping transform their ideas into impactful real-world solutions.
