Dailymirror.news,Hyderabad,July 18th,2026: Pallavi International School, Pocharam, hosted its Investiture Ceremony 2026-27 formally inducting its newly elected Student Council in a ceremony that celebrated leadership, democracy and environmental responsibility.
The ceremony began with a Guard of Honour and the unfurling of the school flag by Chief Guest Col. Satish Kumar (Retd.), an Army veteran of 35 years whose service spanned Jammu & Kashmir, the North East and the Siachen Glacier, including the Kargil operation. Col. Kumar was felicitated before the ceremonial lamp lighting.
In her welcome address, Principal Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur Arneja highlighted that this year’s Student Council was elected entirely through a democratic student vote — giving the school’s young leaders a first-hand lesson in citizenship and accountability. The programme featured a classical dance performance, a choir presentation, the formal oath-taking, and a March Past by the newly invested Council.

A standout moment was the students’ presentation on Decarbonize Asia/Pacific, a global climate initiative linking schools across India, the Philippines, Fiji, Japan and Canada.
Students of Cambridge Stage 5 and 6 shared how they researched climate change through conversations with their grandparents, created canvas artworks on environmental urgency, and collected and gifted nearly a thousand discarded seeds as symbols of hope. The presentation closed with students planting saplings, turning their research into action.
Head Boy and Head Girl of the CBSE, Cambridge and Early Years sections addressed the gathering, followed by Director of Pallavi Group of Schools Mr. Sushil Kumar, who urged students to lead with integrity. The Chief Guest and Director then led the school’s Haritha Haram plantation drive.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the National Anthem.
